Microsoft keeps enhancing Microsoft Teams to enrich the User Experience and makes it more empowered and convenient to use. Let’s walk over few such features introduced recently in Microsoft Teams, that include:

Schedule Teams channel messages

Earlier in Microsoft Teams, the capability to schedule chat messages was introduced. Now this capability has been extended to the channel messages. One can schedule the channel messages to be sent at a later point of time flexible to the colleagues’ time zone and working hours.

How to schedule a Microsoft Teams channel message?

Follow the below steps to schedule channel messages

Step 1 : Type in your message, then select Actions and apps .

Step 2 : Select Schedule message .

Step 3 : Select the date and time when you’d like to send it.

Step 4 : Click the Continue button.

Step 5 : The chosen date and time are displayed at the top of the message. Now, select Post to send the message per the scheduled date and time.

Now, a message is displayed at the top, portraying the scheduled date and time the message will be sent.

Furthermore, you can perform the below operations on a scheduled Microsoft Teams channel message

  • Edit the scheduled message
  • Delete the scheduled message
  • Reschedule the message for a different date and time

Edit the scheduled Teams channel message

Step 1 : Go to the scheduled channel message that you’d like to edit.

Step 2 : Upon hovering on the right, Select the Edit Icon that appears.

Step 3 : Make changes to the title or body of the message. When you are done, tap Post.

Reschedule the scheduled Teams channel message

Step 1 : Go to the scheduled channel message that you’d like to reschedule.

Step 2 : Upon hovering on the right, Select the Edit Icon that appears.

Step 3 : Click the down arrow to edit the scheduled time. Change the date and time as required. When you are done, tap ‘Post’.

Alternatively, you can also choose to cancel the scheduled time, by selecting ‘Cancel scheduled time’ option highlighted above. Now, the message behaves as a normal message and is sent immediately, when you click Post.

Delete the scheduled channel message

Step 1 : Go to the scheduled channel message that you’d like to delete.

Step 2 : On the right, select the menu . Then, on the screen, tap Delete .

The message gets deleted just like any other message, but the deletion cannot be undone.

Customize your notification location in Microsoft Teams

With this new feature, you can now personalize the placement of notifications on your screen. We can move it to a location convenient to us, to focus better.

To achieve this,

Step 1 : Navigate to Settings -> Notifications and activity -> Display -> Show notifications during calls and meetings.

Step 2 : The default location being “Bottom right”, you can choose the preferred location among the options – “Bottom right”, “Top right”, “Bottom left”, “Top left”.

Now you will start finding the notifications from your desired chosen location.

Forward loop components in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams now allows forwarding loop components in chats and channels.

Step 1 : Go to the sent message that contains loop component that you wish to forward.

Step 2 : Navigate to the more actions -> Forward

Step 3 : Choose the recipients and the message to be added to provide a context of the forwarded message.

Step 4 : The recipients chosen in the previous step automatically gets access to the loop component as highlighted below.
