Microsoft has recently released a new feature to envision a channel-wise document listing of a SharePoint site associated with a Team. So, user has the luxury to route to all their channel sites right from their team site.

When a user navigates to the document library of a SharePoint site associated with a team, the “In channels” – a new section will be visible. It is currently collapsed by default. The “In channels” section will include all Standard, Private & Shared Channels within the Team.

The Private & Shared Channels will be distinguished with a specific icon – please refer below screenshot.

The concept of a separate site for a Private / Shared channel still holds good. Only a link to the site is provided under “In channels”. On clicking the link, the user is routed to the relevant channel site.

Is the Privacy Policy of the Channels retained ?

This change also makes sure that the privacy policy of a private / shared channel is not impacted. And hence, a user can only view the private / shared channels that they are member of, under the “In channels” section. They will not have the private / shared channels listed which they are not part of.
